Vikings Scandal
Should we care about the scandal? NO. We did not start watching football and other sports because they canceled our favorite soap opera. We watch because we love the game, or the competion, of the history of the team. What players do on thier own time is their business, and none of ours. Players should not be role models either. Throwing a ball 75 yards is really neat, but in no way compares to the great social and scientific achievments others have achieved in the past, and those that are continually being made everyday.
For a great arguement on why sports stars should not be role models, please visit The Four Hoarsemen.
I have given this issue to much time already,

What about all the NFL players that do great community service? What about the guys that help to make thier community better? Do we ever hear about that? Do we ever care about that? Did we know how much Randy Moss did for the community? NO! Randy did alot for the Minnesota community, but the only press time he ever got was when he did something bad.
Sensationalism in journalism, formatted in such a way to make you think you care. If you really cared or were able to have an objective opinion, you would look into the history of community serives that these players have.
Until that point, don't dare pretend to be offended. I think if we don't care about the good the NFL and its players do for communities, we should not care about the harm.
Think for yourselves folks, don't be offended by what everyone tells you to be offended by.
